Staying Busy

Kinda tough without a sewing machine but I'm managing to do at least one thing in my sewing room every day.  Besides cleaning, straightening, and putting away piles o' stuff that have accumulated over the last 3-4 months, yesterday I cut out the 5" squares for the D9P QAL.

I also opened the charm packs and learned something else!   There isn't two of the rosy red damask squares but just one... the other is a more rusty red...   interesting!

While there are a lot of browns in the Penelope line, there are also some dusty teal greens as well.

I like the teals so much that I found a shop on Etsy that still has some yardage of "Penelope" and ordered a yard of one of the teals so I can have a few more squares of that in the mix.... and to add a narrow teal border as well as the brown and rosy damask.   Still need to make a run to my LQS for the solid/neutral.... but no hurry!

  1. Wish you were close enough that I could loan you a machine. I get antsy when I have sewing time and I can't sew.
Maybe petting and cutting fabric will keep you occupied until you can sew again. : )

  3. Love that brown and pink combo print. I agree with Janet...would love to lend you a machine. I know that cutting and planning help but there is nothing like pedal to the metal and needle to the fabric. Soon is my wish for you.

  6. I feel your pain. When my vintage Bernina was in the shop, my DD, the psychology major, decided I was moving through the first stages of grief. Just was it was becoming unbearable, the shop called to tell me Berni was ready to be picked up. Pure joy! Enjoy your tidying and planning until your very own happy day!

  7. That's a lovely line of fabric! Too bad we live so far apart, I have lots of piles that could use some of your tidying skills. Teehee.
