Layout

I've not gotten to the LQS yet...  pesky work... gets in the way of all the stuff I want to do!    But here is the 5" fabric squares layout for the D9P QAL...

The corner fabrics are from the "Penelope" charm packs and the center square will be a constant.  (The white squares are the cardboard backing from the charm packs... haven't gotten the solid/neutral yet.)  I'm not going to worry about two damasks per 9-patch...  'cause I have the big picture in mind.

There is no reason you can't have five different prints per 9-patch...  I think scrappy would look great as well.

  1. Scrappy does well, in my humble opinion. Though I strongly feel it's good to have a constant center block in each 9 patch. Pulls the quilt together.

  2. Ooooh, it looks good - even with the paper standing in for the solid/neutral. :o)

  4. The bummer is that in my life without work there would be so much less quilting. I might have to find a second job as my current job just relocated to within less then a 10 minute ride from my favorite LQS and LKS and within 15 minutes of a Joanns and Michaels. This could become very expensive even with coupons. We all should have such troubles.

  6. I guess I'll be cutting tomorrow; making mine scrappy with the center neutral.
