Some lovelies here, Freda!
You have had such a productive spring break! Love your stars.Just had to tell you that I found 30 of the same star pattern blocks made by my grandmother when going through some things at Mama's house yesterday. Will post pictures this week. I've got to decide how to arranage them in a quilt. I will be watching how your quilt goes together.
These are so pretty. I can't wait to see them all sewn together! :o)
I'm loving the "eye candy." I'm not sure if you get American Patchwork and Quilting, but I picked up the new issue and there is a great article of using your stash and thinking about the fabrics in different ways so that is all seems new and fresh. The article talks about large scale fabrics and the tendency for quilters to try to quiet them with small scale prints, but that really, you should combine them with other large scale prints. The analogy (which I love) is to imaging a party with one really loud person. That is uncomfortable, but if there are several loud people, it is just a lively party! Some of your blocks perfectly illustrate that idea. I'm going to have to rethink my old ways. Anyway, I found that article to be one of the best that I've read in ages. It also flows through the magazine in some of the other areas.
Beautyful! And pretty sure I spy KF millefiore...love!
Your using beautiful fabrics for your stars, the quilt will have a very soft calming effect. Lovely.
