Final Layout?

Work has been very hectic this past month but I think I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel as we head into the last 6 weeks of the school year.  It's been a long haul...

I've not been sewing but I have spent quite a bit of time studying the flower star blocks on the design wall (easier to do on the design wall than the design floor)...  and moving those puppies around.  I don't think any block has stayed in the same place as when I first placed it on the design wall...

...and now, looking at the photo, I see a block or two that probably will get moved again.   Anyhoo... some progress has been made...   who knew it would be this hard?

  1. And I think I see things more clearly from a photo. Hope you can figure out a way you can be happy with it soon--or you might be tempted to put it away and forget about it. No, it is too pretty for that. : )

  2. I think it looks great the way it is already laid out. Sometimes I'll lay mine out on the floor and walk by it every now and then and see what I think from different angles.

  4. It looks good to me! It is hard to decide where to put what for me. And when I get to actually sewing the blocks together they don't seem to be where I mean't for them to be! But, in the end its all good.

My sewing room is calling me. Got baby quilts to make!

  5. wow, this looks very good. So love the soft effect with the fabrics here. A little more shifting and you will get the balance of color just right. Glad to hear from you again......hang on school is almost out.

  7. Was wondering about you!!! Glad to see your post!! Looks like a lovely flower garden!! I agree, settings are difficult for me, too. I'll move things around until I'm nuts!! (okay, so I'm a little nutty most of the time anyhoo!!!) LOL

  8. I was thinking about you yesterday realizing I hadn't seen a post in a while and if I'd missed anything. I should have know you would be busy with work. The quilt is looking so pretty.

  10. I really like it. You know you could spend a month looking at the quilt and always find a block to move. I've done that. I love your layout. Hugs

  13. I always find a photo helps to see a quilt as it really is. Good luck on last 6 weeks. I'm a teacher too and counting the days. I bet you get as little quilting done as I do during the school year.

I'm following your blog through Feedly. I always look forward to reading what you have to share.

  15. Looking good to me also, I usually take a lot of photos as I go, and also leave it up for a couple of days so I can stand and look at it occasionally.

  16. It's amazing what a difference looking at the blocks in the vertical position makes -- and even more so when photographed!

  17. It's never easy to get every block on his place, every time you move one piece something else doesn't fit.... and so on...and so on... But and the end all the effort will pay out.
