Fabric Therapy in the Mail

There were a number of fabric sales among my favorite sellers on Etsy over the Memorial Day weekend...  so I had a couple of packages waiting on my front door step yesterday afternoon when I got home from work.

First were some lovely Lakehouse fabrics...

Then some FQs of "Gatsby" by Clothworks...   plus a couple of Bali Pops....

Most intriguing to me was this cotton-linen fabric...  2 pieces, 1 floral damask and the second a matching damask...

When I opened up the fabric, I noticed the selvedge edge...

Very lovely fabric, didn't know Moda made other fabrics but should have guessed they did... this is 52-53" wide.    Does anyone know about this fabric line?  I'm assuming it's meant for home decor but I'm tempted to wash and then use it for a quilt or something...

What do you think?

  2. Great fabrics! I do think the Gatsby is a drapery fabric. I have had a similar fabric in the past. I used it on the back of a quilt and it worked beautifully since I machine quilt and don't have to worry about hand quilting through the closer weave. For that matter, it would be beautiful in block, too!

  3. I think I'd check with Moda on the upholstery fabric before washing it. It might not turn out so nice in the washing machine.

  5. I have successfully washed decorating fabrics...cold water...low dryer. I think they would make a lovely quilt or quilt back.

  6. Your fabric therapy is bound to make your "phooey" feel better!

I've been cooking and watering plants. We are so dry and not much chance of rain in sight.

    Enjoy your new fabric!

  10. Mmm, purples, blues, and dots, so yummy! I especially love the floral print by Moda - and I finally figured out why it's so familiar: I have pillow cases and valances with that arrangement and colors. Hope you get to use it in a quilt!
