What I Learned...

I learned that quilting goes a lot better when I take advantage of the "half-speed motor" setting.  I have a lead foot... with this setting, I can only go so fast.

I learned that wrestling with fabric is not conducive to straight quilting lines... and that I honestly don't care.  The quilt is to wrap up and snuggle in... not be an example of perfection in quilting.

I learned that even though I got binding on the quilt, I was too lazy to start hand-sewing the binding down.

I can work on this project during the week... besides, I had other things to do besides sit on the sofa and sew while watching a movie.

*lol*

  2. It looks perfect to me! I can identify with all these lessons you learned. There's one good thing about my new machine. I can control the speed. My old one was always "wide open". :o)

  3. Ohhhhh!!!! I love it! Just think of all that white space to practice FMQ! You have an awesome sewing machine - that would help cure my lead foot, too :-)

  4. Your quilt is beautiful! I love the speed control on my machine. It keeps me from making so many more errors than I already do - lol!

  5. It looks great. I too use my speed control, it can go from turtle speed to turbo depending on my project.

  6. Your quilt is beautiful. A friend of mine said that finished is better than perfect! I am a firm believer in this. Great job.

  8. Thanks for sharing the lessons. I have a speed control on my machine that I have never used. Reading your lessons sent me immediately in search of the pinned quilt on my banister and I quilted about a third of it on "slow" . What a difference. Thank you, thank you, thank you,

  9. Wow, I really need to upgrade my machine, which was a hand-me-down. As I've whined before, it's a wrestling match to sew. Yours looks like the Cadillac model! Nice job by the way.
