A Little Quilting

I have three quilts that need to be finished before the end of the year.  I didn't exactly leave them til the last minute...  somehow, five fractured ribs and a fractured thumb can throw a monkey wrench into the works!

I decided to finish up my throw-size Christmas quilt first and am doing the same loopy-line quilting on it that I used on the table runner for my daughter... except with much larger loops.

I plan to do a smaller/narrow looping quilting line in the red sashing and go back to the larger loops in the border.   I'm using a medium gray thread that is blending well.  I would like to finish up the quilting this morning and then bind it this afternoon.   Must keep quilting because....

  1. Yes, life has a way of getting in the way of quilting and other things we want to do, doesn't it? Your quilting is very nice and the quilt will be beautiful!

  3. I so love loop de loops for quilting. I don't do them often but I love seeing them on quilts. They give a quilt movement. And they are fun. Makes me smile.
Glad you are on the mend. You have been on my mind, girl.

  5. Oh, stop that clock! I have three more to finish by Christmas, and I have no such excuse as broken ribs or thumb!
The loops look good. I wish I had chosen something less involved to quilt my three (I'm actually marking them with stencils--whose idea was that?), but one is almost finished and I figure since they are going to boys at the same house, they'd better be similar.
I'm glad you are doing well enough to be quilting--hope you aren't overdoing it!

  7. The clock sure is ticking, but I'm sure you will finish in the nick of time. Love those loopy loops, I will have to remember those for next time I do a bit of FMQ.

  8. I don't know if I could wrestle with a quilt with busted up ribs.....it's bad enough when one is well.
Great job.....and I know you will get them done !

  9. I'm like Michelle - no way I could manage the quilting with your problems. Glad to see you trying, though.
