Hen Party

Several friends, online and in real life, have chickens; however, the town in which I live.... in all their "wisdom"...  doesn't allow chickens.   So I'll have to make do with these cuties....

Pip of Rest is Not Idleness the ones with the feathered topknots are Silkie Bantams!  You learn something every day...

  1. How sweet are those hens---it would be really fun to have some hens or chickens and free eggs!

    Happy Sunday!

  2. Very cute! A brood of hens looking as if they're singing with heads raised. I'm reminded of the time (long long ago and late, late one night), my cousin and our moms sang harmony together in hen-speak, to the tune of Joe Hill by Joan Baez. Brok brok brok.... Silly/sweet memories.

  3. They are so cute! Love them.
I was raise on a chicken farm. We always had lots of eggs to eat. I still love eggs cooked most any way.

  12. My grandpa was a chicken farmer, so I know of what Pip speaks!
Are you familiar with "The Music Man"? As I see these chickens huddled together I hear in my mind "pick-a-little-talk-a-little, pick-a-little-talk-a-little, cheep-cheep-cheep, talk-a-lot, pick-a-little-more."
I've seen these on line and have been tempted to make one myself. So fun!
