The Home Stretch

I'm on the home stretch with finishing up Cowabunga Florabunda and am planning to be finished within two weeks.  Yup... two weeks.  Actually, I'm hoping to be done by next Sunday evening... but I'm giving myself some wiggle room.

Last night, I made the binding and tonight, I'll work on the label.

Have you read Bonnie Hunter's post about her latest mystery quilt-along, which starts November 18th?  I've not done a mystery quilt before and am tempted... but have too many things going right now.

Bonnie tells "you right up front that I do intense piecing…..lots of pieces, many of them small. This is a labor intensive quilt. One WORTH the piecing!"

If you're interested in Bonnie's "Orca Bay" Mystery Quilt Along, the fabric requirements are posted... so be sure to check it out.

  1. You are so close--can you smell the finish?
I don't think I can do the mystery quilt. Small pieces and no whining allowed? I'm out!

  3. Congratulations on your near finish. I am tempted to get in on Bonnie's new Mystery quilt. I would have to check my stash and see what I have, i do have more red and blue than any other color but I know I would have to buy more. Do you know how long the mystery will last? If it is done in a short period of time, I know I would be out. Let me know if you are going to give it a try.

  4. Bonnie's mystery quilts are always a lot of fun and since there really isn't a "time limit" on them I usually jump right in....

  5. CF is beautiful! You've done a great job and the finished product will be a treasure to the recipients.

I've been MIA, but a few minutes here and there on Bluberri Breezes will soon get me to the point of making the binding. Then my few minutes here and there will be on the JL QAL and handquilting Grandma's quilt.

  6. Finishing is great, so close now. I'm tempted with the mystery quilt but realistically I have far too many things needing to be worked on. I will just follow the blogs I think, less work :)

  7. Come on and join Bonnie's mystery - you won't be sorry. I've done all of hers and they are my favorites! Love your quilt.

  8. I was tempted to join Bonnie's mystery this time, but I don't think I have enough fabric to pull it off. I am still tempted though. If I get the Jacob's Ladder all pieced, I may just do it. Let me know if you decide to join.
You will get that binding on before you know it.
