Oh Christmas Tree

Let's face it... dealing with a Christmas tree by yourself ain't much fun...  and even less fun is taking it all down and storing it again.  So...  I've not had a tree for a number of years.

For some reason, I decided I wanted to have a small tree...  something that wouldn't be a pain in the kazoo...  and ordered a small feather tree.  It arrived in the mail yesterday and, of course, I had to put it up right away.

I dug out ornaments... the special ones...  some are too big but I don't care!   It makes me happy!

  1. I'm glad you got a tree. I don't know if I could be without one. Those special ornaments deserve a place to be admired.
Will you believe me if I tell you I have 22 trees at my house? Only one of them is decorated--the other 21 are those skinny "alpine" trees with the wooden trunks. I know they aren't "in style" anymore, but I don't care. I love the atmosphere they add to a room. They just have lights on them. I have 6 in my solarium, 1 in the living room (opposite end of the room from the decorated tree), 3 in the dining room, 3 in the loft, 3 in the family room, 1 in my sewing room and 4 in the basement. My sister gifted me my first set of 3, I have bought a few on clearance and the rest have come from the local thrift store. : )

  2. I love your little tree Freda.
Long ago we had no tree because we were on vacation during Cristmas, but I didn't like that, for many years we had a small one and a few years ago we bought a big one. When we came home I found out that that tree was one size bigger then we planned but it fits just.
It isn't important if you have a big tree or a small one, if you have one or as many as Janet, it's all about the Christmas spirit.
    Greetings Roos

  4. I was thinking yesterday while watching my husband deal with the tree that there would be no way I could do it myself, either. I think your solution is a perfect one. I have really special ornaments myself that I would hate to not be able to use.

  10. I agree, putting up a tree alone would be awful but it is much worse dismantling it on your own!

  11. I love our little tree. We have had small trees for years. In fact, I have bought a new small tree each year for the past several, so we just put them all up now. I think we have about 10 or 11 now. All are different. You have inspired me to get them out and start decorating today.

  14. The Christmas tree (a big one) is the first thing I put up each year. For the first time in 10 years, my two youngest grandchildren weren't interested in trimming for me, so I had the joy of hanging every single bit of old ornament and tinsel. I LOVE Christmas trees.
