Gift Card Holder #2

I needed to make the gift card holder for my DDIL since I had to mail it but I finally finished up the one for my DD last night...  along with the coffee cozy.

I tried FMQing the top of the bag and, since the thread blends in so well.... you can't really see all the "omg...now where should I go?" areas.   I even "wrote" my DD's name in the quilting on one side!

I just need to decide on what color ribbon to put on the zipper and wrap it up and I'll be all done.  Good thing because DD and family arrive after lunch today!

Gift Card Holder

It's almost Mothers Day and I like to give my DD and DDIL a little something... after all they're the mothers of my grandchildren!

Here is one of the "gift card holders" that I made...

....with a pocket on the inside to hold the gift card.

This is the Strippy Charm Pouch that I made the other day.... just I changed some things.  One unintentional change was that I forgot to pin the handle to the bag before I sewed it together.

I also made a reversible coffee cup cozy from the same fabrics for the girls...  my DD likes her coffee and my DDIL likes her hot tea!

I love the internet... such cool tutorials!

Coffee Cozy

The other day, I posted about making a coffee cozy using Rachel's tutorial/pattern.

I have actually made four... one for a gift to a friend and one for each of the schools to which I am assigned.

Not only does the cozy keep my hands from the heat of the hot beverage in the cup... but also keeps the coffee/tea hot longer.

It took a little fiddling with the pattern...  *rip, rip, rip*   ...but I finally got the right size to fit the cup.   Next project:  a coffee cozy to fit my mugs here at the house.... sorta like this one...

I may be machine-less but I still got projects going!
