Sandwiching

With the goal of turning finished quilt tops (aka UFOs) into quilts this year, I've sandwiched a 90"x90" quilt-to-be and will start pin basting here in a minute.  Gotta have a break after ironing and tussling with all that fabric...

With the weather turning warmer, I'd like to get this quilted before it becomes too hot to have it laying all over me as I wrestle it through the machine.

This is a disappearing 9-patch made with charm squares and some yardage.  The top was finished last year... so it's about time it turned into a quilt, don't you think?

  1. I like it! How do you protect your table from scratches from the pins?

  2. What a pretty quilt! Can't wait to see how you quilt it. I've got a disappearing nine patch quilt in storage that I'll be quilting just as soon as I can when we get settled somewhere again.

  3. It's beautiful, Freda. I wonder how you're going to quilt it? With your wavy lines?

  4. Pretty quilt! I happen to be sandwiching one myself...definitely not the most fun part of the process.

  5. My goodness. That's a BIG beautiful quilt. Love D9P blocks. I started one last year. It has became a UFO for awhile, but I'll finish it this year.

  8. It is a great quilt top, but I wouldn't rush the quilting too much. I like to let my tops marinate a few years. : )
Good for you getting this basted and quilted. If I don't stall at the borders, then I definitely do it at the basting stage!

  11. I agree, it's time! And my D9P top still sits in line, folded. I do love yours, especially b/c it has the sweet flowers. Good for you!
