It's All Betty Lou's Fault!

Yes, indeed... Miz Betty Lou of Sugarland Quilts made some Strippy Charm Pouch bags as part of Christmas Through the Year, making holiday gifts ahead of time.  Betty Lou posted the link to the Moda Bake Shop tutorial.... and it got me to thinking...    and you know how my quilter's ADHD is!

I pulled FQs from stash and had a fun time after work yesterday.   I even added a pocket on the inside because I'm a pocket kinda gal!

I think that you just can't have too many little zippered bags...   and this one was fun to make!

  1. Very cute! How many are you making? You certainly didn't stop at one, did you? : )

  2. Ha,ha, I was thinking the same as Janet O. But you're right when you say that one can't have enough little zippered bags.

  3. That turned out really pretty! Its always good to change gears once and a while and make a smaller project, especially when you have been making so many big quilts, like you have. When I finish the binding on my current quilt I plan to make some smaller projects.

Can you believe I don't have a quilt plan in mind yet for my next quilt? Its very exciting to start planning it though.

  6. I guess if I have to get blamed for something, this one is O.K. They are fun to make, like your addition of pockets and a little extra strip around the bottom. Yep, a zipper and scraps that is all you need. Hugs.

  9. I hate you, I hate you, I hate you. You do realize I will now need to spend my evening making at least one of these things.

Ok so I mean Thank you so much for the link. It was very generous of you to share. I love the way it turned out. I don't know how I'm going to cope with actual measurements to follow. It should make this a real quick and easy project. I need to run now and get the tv setup for Mark Harmon to keep me company while I sew.

  10. Betty Lou always has good ideas to pass on. I had filed this idea, too, but haven't gotten around to making one yet. Yours looks great.

  11. Yes, but really, Empress...how long can you hold a grudge against someone with the name Miz Betty Lou? Hmmm?

  13. I love the bag! I have a bag project waiting in the wings to start. Maybe this will be the encouragement I need to get going on it.

  15. Your pouches are very nice. I can't quite get over my fear of zippers to make one yet, but I think this might be just what I needed to try.
