It's the Season to... *cough cough hack hack*

...especially if you work in the public school system.   Not much going on here except resting and swilling liquids but wanted to share a few photos with you.

To fight off the "sick at home" blues... I did a little seasonal decorating to lift my spirits as I felt able.   First... my new "little tree" in the dining room....

...and a photo of the entire buffet.  I turned the overhead light off trying to get more a night-time effect...

Also did the buffet in the kitchen.... it just needs a couple of plates of Christmas cookies to finish it off, don't you think?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My son and family attended a family gathering in South Carolina (daughter-in-law's side of the family)... for an oyster roast!  Very traditional in that neck o' the woods...   the two boys in the middle are my oldest two grandsons digging in...

...while my youngest grandson was checking out the Christmas goose!

However, I don't think Mr. Goose is in danger of attending Christmas dinner...

  4. No fun being sick at this time, but you are right--if you are in the schools you can hardly avoid it.
Things are looking festive at your house! Yes, cookies would finish the display!! : )
Fun to get a look at the grandsons. Good looking young men!

  5. I like your Christmas decorations. I see some blue plates in the background. I recently started collecting some blue willow ones to go with one platter Mama had. Those grandsons look like they are enjoying those oysters and playing with the goose! I usually leave those oyster roasts to the men folk but those who like them, love it, men or women.

  6. Your decorations are beautiful and I love seeing the grandson in shirtsleeves - and also envy him. We're having our second snow since the weekend today. I'm already tired of it.

  8. Boy, I'm with you on all the creepy germs that come to school! I came home yucky last night, but felt much better this morning. I went in and wiped all my student desk tops. At school today there were 3 subs, I'm sure Miss Holly was glad she didn't have to try to find 4. Take care, dear Freda ~

  9. Sorry to hear you've not been well, hope you're feeling much better soon. It's obviously still warm in South Carolina, judging by all the short sleeves. We, of course, are enjoying lovely summer temperatures!
