I finished up the quilt top for the pinwheel quilt, one of the two projects that need to be done before Christmas. Actually, I'd like both finished before Thanksgiving because it seems that after turkey day, the slide into the holidays is very steep and very fast.
Today, I am sandwiching the quilt...
Wish me luck!
I can do loop-de-loops and stars, but meandering just seems to be my bugaboo. It always looks like someone has been running up and startling me while I'm doing it. More practice is needed, obviously.
ReplyDeleteGo Freda, Go!!! Go Freda Go!!! You can do, sure you can, if you can't, nobody can!!!
ReplyDeleteI know kinda corny - but a cheer for you none the less!!
Blessings
Oh by the time you get to the borders you will be comfortable with the whole FMQ process and there will be minimal fighting of the bulk of that beauty. It is a wonderful top and I have every faith that it will be a stunning finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flimsy! Very ambitious quilting idea... but if anyone can, it's you, Freda! You go Girl! We're backing you all the way - from afar.

You can do it!!! The quilt is fabulous, by the way. I totally agree about the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, too.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely cheering you on. Good luck on the quilting and meeting the deadlines. I also am hopeful to get a lot done before Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteGo get 'em, Freda! You will be so proud. Good job on the realistic goals, too ~

I'm rootin' for ya! It's a beautiful quilt top and I know you'll finish well!
ReplyDeleteI know you can do it--and you are wise to shoot for a pre-Thanksgiving finish. I love your description of the slide into the holidays after Thanksgiving being steep and fast. All too true!! : )
ReplyDeleteThe slide to Christmas starts earlier for us in Scotland - we don't have Thanksgiving so it's Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night (5th of November) then Christmas is only a blink away. Eeeeek! :oD
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to say - good luck with your FMQing! :o)
DeleteThe only cheer I know: S- U- C- C- E- S- S, that's the way we spell success! Go Freda! Your FMQing will be awesome.
ReplyDelete5 pointed stars are actually easy if you make them like you did in elementary school. Plus, doing it that way looks like it is free motioned rather than stiff and stilted like the other stars.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished quilt. the colors are so vibrant and I love it. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Enjoy quilting it!
