I finished up the first pinwheel block, fussy cutting the large pinwheel "blades"... which proved to be a bit of a challenge since I didn't have a lot of the fabric to play with. Had to piece one of the "blades"... but I don't think it's too obvious.
Block is 12" finished.
(If either of my sisters read this blog post, don't say anything to your DHs (both retired Coasties).... one of them may be receiving this quilt.)
Excellent fussy cutting, Freda! I can't tell where you pieced to make a blade. : )
ReplyDeleteLove the fussy cutting, and the light background fabric is the same as I used on Dulcinea, only mine was light blue! I really love this block. I wish I could find the Army version of that Coast Guard fabric.
ReplyDeleteOh, after a closer look, I see that the flag fabric has all branches on it. You must have gone through a lot of fabric to cut those!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the fussy cut.
ReplyDeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the block but how do you decide which DH will get the quilt. Sounds like a family feud in the making.;-}
ReplyDeleteExcellent! And I couldn't tell where you the pieced blade. So happy you're back enjoying sewing again.
ReplyDeleteThe block is great I sure can't tell anything is pieced. Will be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your block. It will make a beautiful quilt. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThat looks totally amazing, Freda. :o)
ReplyDeleteVery well done! Your fussy cutting was worth the trouble, yippee!

What a treat for a lucky brother-in-law. I've never seen the Coast Guard emblem on fabric.
