I've decided that... when I go to that big sewing room in the sky... I want my tombstone to read as follows:
Who knew the gears could wear out?
I have no idea how long it will take the gears to arrive once ordered and you KNOW that no one was in a hurry over the holidays.... but I will be patient. A new machine costs wayyyyy more than fixing this one!
In the meantime, I keep repeating...
Just keep telling yourself how great it will be when you get the Bernia back. It will be as good as new. Hope that it happens soon.
ReplyDeleteWhen Machine-less I loved pulling out my hand sewing, hand stitching or whatever I could do to take the craving for my machine away.
ReplyDeleteI like to keep a spare. : )
ReplyDeleteMy faithful old Viking of 33 years sits on a desk in my sewing room so I don't have to change threads on my Pfaff in the middle of a quilt project to do mending, etc. If the Pfaff has to be gone for an extended period (hasn't happened yet), I could rely on the old Viking to step up!
When the store who repares your sewingmachine called that you can pick it up you will see, the sun start to shine, the birds will sing the most beautiful songs and a big smil will appear on your face.

You do make me laugh!!! Hope your machine is soon back!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Does absence really make the heart grow fonder? Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could spend the next few weeks putting together quilt kits and other projects from your stash. When your "baby" comes home again you would be ready for some serious bonding. Best wishes toward a speedy reunion:)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow----wearing out a sewing machine! Whodathunkit. BTW, I totally plan on visiting your grave someday...... many many many many years from now. I'll leave you some bent needles and busted bobbins.
ReplyDeleteI hope your machine comes back soon! I miss seeing what you are sewing.:o)
ReplyDeleteDang. …and in the meantime I guess we're cleaning house, eh?
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have my sympathy. I hope you get your Bernina back soon.
ReplyDeleteR you sure you want that on your tombstone? Fire that editor!
ReplyDeleteTriple Dang!
ReplyDeleteStart shopping yard sales and find yourself an old Featherweight for a spare. You will be amazingly well-read by time you get her home again.
Happy New Year!!
I have a spare machine but I can appreciate your "suffering"
ReplyDeleteThis is a good reminder for me to send my machine in for a servicing (long overdue).
LOL!! I figured so because you've been so quiet! I hope the new gears come fast!!
ReplyDeleteLoved the tombstone...that will be me and my pfaff...hope you get your machine back soon.
