Grandbaby Quilt #5

Four quilts down, one more to go!  This one for my little Chloe, who isn’t all that little anymore… in fact, she will start Kindergarten in the fall.

Chloe is my little tomboy although she loves stuffed animals and dolls as well.  The Christmas she was four, she asked for “Dino Roars”… a fabric covered, mechanical T-Rex that walked and roared.  She still loves Dino Roars… and even as big as it is, she stills brings Dino Roars to visit Grandma.

Chloe also loves owls (if you remember the owls I posted the other day) and has been given quite a number of them.  In particular, “Snowy” is her very special favorite owl and had to have him for naps and at bedtime.  Snowy came to live with Chloe as part of a gift set that also included a board book.  Chloe soooo loves Snowy that her mother ordered another gift set just to have a back up Snowy…. good thing too… the world stops turning when he can’t be found!  Snowy goes for swims in the washing machine when he is not snowy white anymore and Chloe loves when he comes out of the dryer all soft and fluffy again.

When I saw Deb Strain’s “Love U” fabrics, it was a no-brainer!

Made a simple rail fence and used leftover bits for a pieced border, used the "Love U" panel on the back, and liked the way that turned out.

For some reason Chloe thinks the quilt back is the “top” and insists on the LOVE U panel being up.  My sweet little, single-minded Chloe… gets something in her head and it’s hard to dislodge.  Gotta love her!

  1. You can enlarge your images by editing a post: click at the bottom of the image. There will be several options for sizing and centering and to remove: small, ex-large. Did you know that? That way you are able to show a larger image, a quilt for example. ;)

  2. Chloe's quilt is darling. Rail fence is one of my favorite blocks. Simple yet perfect! I love that she likes the back better!! Too funny.

My sister also asked for a Dino Roar for Christmas when she was about 4 yrs. old. They were the hot toy that Christmas and I finally was able to snag one for her. She adored it as well. She's now 23, but I don't think her Dino Roar is still around! :-)

  3. I really like this quilt. Love the design on the front and that you used the panel on the back, very clever. I really am a fan of this collection.
