Sandwiching

I finished up the quilt top for the pinwheel quilt, one of the two projects that need to be done before Christmas.  Actually, I'd like both finished before Thanksgiving because it seems that after turkey day, the slide into the holidays is very steep and very fast.

Today, I am sandwiching the quilt...

Note to my FMQ-ing cheer squad:  I will be FMQ-ing this baby... meandering in the pinwheel section, a loop-de-loop in the red border, and stars in the outer border... if I get up enough nerve to do stars!   *lol*

Wish me luck!

  1. I can do loop-de-loops and stars, but meandering just seems to be my bugaboo. It always looks like someone has been running up and startling me while I'm doing it. More practice is needed, obviously.

  3. Oh by the time you get to the borders you will be comfortable with the whole FMQ process and there will be minimal fighting of the bulk of that beauty. It is a wonderful top and I have every faith that it will be a stunning finished quilt.

  12. I know you can do it--and you are wise to shoot for a pre-Thanksgiving finish. I love your description of the slide into the holidays after Thanksgiving being steep and fast. All too true!! : )

  13. The slide to Christmas starts earlier for us in Scotland - we don't have Thanksgiving so it's Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night (5th of November) then Christmas is only a blink away. Eeeeek! :oD

  15. 5 pointed stars are actually easy if you make them like you did in elementary school. Plus, doing it that way looks like it is free motioned rather than stiff and stilted like the other stars.
