Ramblings

Web-surfing adventures have led me to find the following interesting photos that I thought you might enjoy seeing...

Finally, the president came around...

..and then...

I'm grateful for a lot today...  for the women who fought for the right to vote... for all the men and women who have served our country and continue to do so...

...for my girl friends whose support through trying times is much appreciated...

...and for family whose loving kindnesses are many and generous.

I have not touched my sewing machine in a month.

First, the pneumonia, then the bad fall.  While nothing was broken, there appears to have been significant soft tissue damage.  I am in more pain today than immediately post-fall.   The pain was so bad yesterday when I woke up, I could barely breathe and called 911.

Thanks to the wonderful folks in the ER who attended to every need, I have "a plan" that I have begun and will continue to work on tomorrow.  I have given up any thought of getting back to work before Thanksgiving.... and have notified my supervisor.

My three little girls are coming this afternoon and will stay thru tomorrow afternoon... to cheer me up and to help around the house.

Me, I promise to stop... and rest... and otherwise give my body a chance to heal...

....that's going to be hard.

  3. I so wished I lived close by to drop in, be there when you needed someone. Yesterday sounds scary. I know how difficult it is to just have to wait for things to heal and it is so hard to get thru. Glad you will have some much needed medicine with the girls visiting. Let them know you need lots of attention and very gentle hugs from all your blog friends thru them. Remember the universe needs you.

  4. I hope they have figured out what is wrong and can fix it quickly. Mrs. Moen(a friend & quilt blogger)has a grown daughter who fell down some stairs carrying her baby, she saved the baby, but bruised her liver. Once they figured that out she was sent to bed rest... no lifting! So she had to have lots of help, for quite a long time before she could lift either of her babies. I'm hoping you recouperate sooner. We'll pray for you.

  5. Oh, I am so sorry that things have not improved by now. You are being wise not to push yourself when your body obviously isn't able. Hope you can get the rest you need to recuperate--and I hope they got your pain under control. Wish I could drop by with some soup and breadsticks and a good movie!

  6. Listen to the docs and follow the plan - no shortcuts! Having "been there" I know that is hard. That amount of pain can scare the bejabbers out of you but it is a good wake up call too. The universe can wait while you do what you need to do.

  20. I love the ramblings, sweet friend! But I honestly hope you will make rest your #1 concern. You have so much more to create and share, and that will only happen if you are mended. I think that sofa needs your attention! Love those baby girls while they are visiting ~
