Completed Border

I worked on adding the last tone-on-tone white border on the pink-n-white double 4-patch last evening...

There's not a space large enough in the house to take a photo of the entire finished quilt top but this should give you an idea...

I was sorta dreading doing the last border because I wasn't sure I had enough of the white fabric left... in fact, I was resigned to using a different fabric to finish if I ran out of the first.

This is the white fabric I had left...

...a measly 5" inches WOF plus a partial 2.5" WOF strip and two 2.5" pieces.  I would say that was a close call...

Progress on Pink Double 4-Patch Quilt

This week, I'll sew on the outer tone-on-tone white border and then... I'll be finished with this quilt top!

The backing needs to be pieced, then... off to the LAQ it goes!

Sigh of Relief

Let's just say that the math for the pieced flower border on the pink and white quilt worked out PERFECTLY!!!

Sorry about the poor quality photo... it was taken late afternoon and all I had was artificial light.

When I was out looking for the "Joy" mug, I found these inexpensive baskets... and thought they'd make good project baskets...

...especially since they nest so well.

Another set is being used for the pieced flowers and the leaves and stems for the pink and white quilt!  I'm getting there...

Houston...We Have Flowers!

The math worked out over the weekend, it was time to try making a flower to see if my calculations worked... and they did!  I cut out all the segments and made eight flowers...

They look a bit large to me so I will spread out the quilt top on the floor with the flowers around it before I make any more.

Yes, it's another mug rug...

Yesterday, a new blog friend asked how many mug rugs I had...  and I said that I had a couple.   I've mailed out eight as gifts and four have gone to a coworker as a house warming present.  Twelve will go out today in the school system's courier mail to other coworkers.

This time of the school year is our "busy season"...  add to that the stress from the current State budget crisis and the underlying worry about whether or not we'll have jobs come fall.

I thought my coworkers could use a little something to help brighten their day.
