I hadn't considered how many of these zipper bags to make until blogging buddy Janet O. of The Rogue Quilter (link) asked yesterday.
My first response was that I was going to make six zipper bags for a gift stash.
After making this zipper bag, I remembered that I had a remnant from the very first quilt I made for my niece Deborah and went looking for that.
I had to add a border at the top because the remnant wasn't quite big enough but... it's so pretty, I wanted to use it. I had enough of the pink batik to use for the lining too.
So, I don't know how many of these zipper pouches I'll make. Any suggestions?
Mmm I wrote a comment and published it but it disappeared. If it appears again, sorry about the duplication!
ReplyDeleteI would just keep making them until you get bored with them. I think there's something special about things that can be started and finished on the same day. These 2 are especially pretty. :o)
A baker's dozen should be enough! Then you can gift one a month and have one yourself. :)
ReplyDeleteI think these cute little bags are like potato chips, you just can't stop ......until you run out of zippers. I am enjoying seeing all the combinations. They are great little gifts for anytime.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to start calling you the Bag Lady...lol. I got my zippers in the mail this weekend and yesterday made my first bag. Hopefully I'll get better with practice... I love all your bags. Hugs
ReplyDeleteAfter your reply to my last comment I certainly didn't expect to see two more bags in your post today, but I'm glad I did! They are so pretty!! How sweet to make one from the scraps of your first quilt. I hope you are keeping that one for yourself.
ReplyDeleteThe purple lining on the first one was a nice touch--of course, to me, purple is a nice touch anywhere! : )
I agree with the other comments to make them until you are tired of making them or run out of zippers. Think how nice it will be to have all of these great gifts ready to go!
I made a bunch when I first started, because I could. Now I find that I am averaging about 1 a quarter. someone will ask for one or it seems like a good gift bag for someone or I have a scrap that looks like it would be a great pouch. I haven't gotten borded at all. No limits or end to the process in sight.
ReplyDeleteI love having gifts on hand and never seem to have enough of them so as long as you are enjoying the process keep on going! They look great...
ReplyDeleteYour zippered bags just keep getting prettier and prettier. If you're enjoying making the bags, I'd say keep going. If you end up with more than what you'll need for gifts... you could always fill them with toiletries and drop them off at a women's shelter or donate them to some other cause close to your heart.
ReplyDeleteThese two are cute! Love the batik fabrics : )
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to warm up to batik thanks to these examples!
ReplyDeleteHow many do you want to make - I'd make until I got tired or bored! That's what I did with my stuffed pumpkins!! I think I made about 40 or so. Do you want to trade one of your little purses for a trio of pumpkins!! That would be fun if you are interested!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!!
