Stitchin' in the Ditch
The homespun star quilt that I was supposed to get done before T'giving? I'm working on it now. Nothing fancy quilting-wise... just keeping it simple with some ditch work...
Since the extended family doesn't get together until New Years, I have some time but still would like to have it done in the next week so I can relax.

That is looking good! You are getting some UFOs done. I started quilting my Jewel Box/Buckeye Beauty this week. I forgot how scrappy it is! Its a riot of color, so I decided to go all the way with the quirkiness and am quilting swirls. LOL Its staying at my house on my couch (where I sleep a lot), so its ok, however it turns out.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I thought the "relaxing" part was supposed to start this week, but I had to finish boxes, go to the postoffice, and do cards yesterday. Hopefully one day soon I can get back to "having fun" in my quilting room. This quilt is going to look great, by the way.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a doable plan. Can hardly wait to see the quilt when it is all quilted.
ReplyDeleteI hope you meet your goal. This is a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am so slow at ditchwork, it would take me until New Years. You will meet your goal, I'm sure. I am slow at everything. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. It is such a great quilt. Are you sure you didn't make it for me? : )
ReplyDeleteI've always loved that sewing term 'stitch in the ditch'. Almost as funny as 'dog feed'. ;)
ReplyDeleteDog feed. Ha, ha! It looked funny when I was typing it. ;)
ReplyDeleteDo you need me to translate that, Empress?
ReplyDeleteHer blog however is not written in Spanish. I think it's Catalan. If you can read passable Spanish, French or Portuguese then you should be able to figure out what she's saying.
DeleteUsing a day to drain out the stress was a great idea. I love your quilt. I always enjoy doing a "stitch in the ditch" quilting on a project.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Christmas!
