UFO #1

Yesterday, I pulled UFO #1 from its hiding place in the closet.  I figured it need to breathe and relax a bit before I turned it into a fully-functioning quilt.  Besides... I had sorta forgotten what it looked like.

Yup... the wavy borders are still there.... but I have A Plan!

It's just your basic string block done in blues and yellows.

My sister Carol is visiting this weekend so it might be next weekend before this UFO is finished but it will be by the end of January for certain!

  1. I love yellow and blue. Wonderful quilt. I have several of those wavy borders. I usually treat them with a very loose free motion meander quilting. After a go in the washer and dryer, those soft waves simply flatten out. No problem.

  2. How long has this been in the closet? I don't recall seeing it, but then that may just be my memory playing games with me. : )
Nice color scheme. I started a quilting like this from random scraps several years ago, but mine is still mostly a pile of strips and a handful of blocks.

  9. Have fun with your sis. This quilt is great. I made a blue and yellow string in the mode of a Jelly Roll... last summer I think.
Didn't look as nice as yours.

  10. ♥ Sister love. ♥ Freda, this is a beautiful quilt top! Don't you just love when you find something wonderful that you haven't seen in awhile? I have a string QiP, paper-pieced. This inspires me to pull it out.
