Between necessary weekend chores, I was able to sew on both the pink and white inner borders. Took a pass on fiddling with the flowers for the next border because I can do small tasks like that after work during the week.
Funny how adding two small borders makes the quilt top look so much larger.
To unwind, I made a mug rug... I know you are SO surprised!
All in all.... I'm moving along...
I do love that pink and white quilt. I know what you mean about borders making a quilt look so much bigger. Adding borders, though, is my least favorite part of the process.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is wonderful! The addition of the two borders does make it appear so much larger. You mug rug is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the borders on your quilt. It looks beautiful. Your mug rug is nice. I love the colors you chose. Hugs
ReplyDeleteTwo very sweet finishes! The borders are perfect, such a nice frame on all that pink:-}pokey
ReplyDeleteOoh the pink quilt is lovely, really pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteThe pink quilt is so cute...the borders frame it perfectly and I can't wait to see the flowers. I have looked at all the Pam Bono books I could find and did not find the border, what book is it in again?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Salem Stitcher, putting borders on is my least favorite part of the process too. I don't know why. It should be fun as you are finishing up but to me it's just a chore...I'm going to make one like your pink quilt but mine will be in purples. You're doing great with all the little mug rugs, you old fogey you! Have fun!
Such a spring-time vibe - I'm loving that! I've never created a mug rug before but since I'm always drinking a coffee or tea while sewing, I really do "need" one! Do you have a tutorial on creating them?
ReplyDeleteo.K....I'm definitely showing my ignorance here....Is a "mug rug" a coaster for drinks?
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt top, by the way!
Gorgeous! I love the pink and white combination.
